Over Under Gambling
Posted : admin On 4/3/2022While the Lakers have had losing streaks of as many as four games since trading for Anthony Davis, it does feel like the Lakers are in a stretch they haven’t been in since LeBron’s first season in Los Angeles. Making matters even worse for the Lakers during their prolonged time without Anthony Davis has been their first serious run-in with the NBA’s health and safety protocols, losing guard Dennis Schröder for contact tracing earlier this week.
'Over Under' refers to the betting line on the total number of a certain statistic — usually points or goals scored — in a sporting event, with action taken on whether there will be more (the over). Over Under Betting is the second most popular type of NFL betting, just behind spread betting. Over Under Betting is also known as “Game Total Betting” and you will often see it be referred to as either term.
While the Lakers likely won’t get Schröder back until the end of the week, their opponnent on Monday night is one with perhaps the most experience in the league when it comes to being stopped due to the coronavirus. After being taken out of rotation for nearly three weeks, the Washington Wizards appear to be getting their wind again.
For the Lakers, they will once again be without Davis and Schröder while the Wizards are without Ish Smith (quad) and Thomas Bryant (season-ending knee surgery).

Advice and prediction
The Wizards are riding the exact opposite wave coming into this game than the Lakers as they currently have a season-best 4-game win-streak. Part of that has been a change to the starting lineup, going to a 5-out look with Moritz Wagner, Garrison Matthews and Rui Hachimura flanking stars Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal.
The result has been a better offense and also, as coach Scott Brooks pointed out over the weekend, a better defense. Their defense had a hand in holding Damian Lillard to 35 points on 30 shots and limiting a strong Portland offense to an offensive rating 11 points below their average per 100 possessions.
The Lakers have struggled from the 3-point line over the past few weeks and while the way they shot earlier in the season might suggest they’re going to recover soon, the loss of two shot creators and shot-makers in Schröder and Davis will make getting good 3-pointers even more difficult.
LeBron James is certainly capable of putting together an elite performance and the Lakers still have shooters capable of getting hot to run away with a win. But the Wizards look like they are hitting their stride at the exact same time the Lakers are struggling to find success. Don’t be afraid to take the underdogs as the Lakers current swoon does not have them looking like the dominant team we’ve come to know over the last season and a half.
Prediction: Wizards 112, Lakers 106

Betting Against the Public
In many cases, the general public is clueless when it comes to betting the point spread or over/unders. There are a few reasons for that. First off, most people are too biased for sports betting. And others are far too influenced by ESPN and Fox Sports pundits that really don’t know what they’re talking about.
You’ll often notice that the public favors teams the mainstream media adores. In 2018, for example, Wisconsin (4-9), Michigan State (4-9), and USC (4-8) were among the teams with the worst records in college football against the spread. That’s because they were overhyped and, thus, were bet on heavily.
Over Under Gambling
When it comes to betting football totals, you should look to bet against the public, and that means mostly betting unders. Not always, but more often than not. The reason for that is most bettors like betting the over. Why? Because watching teams score a lot of points is more entertaining than a 14-13 defensive slugfest.
When the public is hammering the over, the totals will eventually rise to a point that makes the under profitable.
